Teams that have won the Superbowl the most?

With Super Bowl LIII fast approaching, here’s a look at the teams that have lifted the Vince Lombardi trophy more than any other team.

Pittsburgh Steelers

With six wins to their names, the Pennsylvanian team has won the Super Bowl more than any other team. They’ve made it to the Super Bowl a total of eight times, though they have only won it at IX (1974), X (1975), XIII (1978), XIV (1979), XL (2005) and XLIII (2008).

New England Patriots

The Boston based team is second on the list when it comes to taking how the Vince Lombardi trophy. Though if they had won Super Bowl 52, they would have been tied for the most title wins, but it was not to be. The Patriots took home the title at XXXVI (2002), XXXVIII (2004), XXXIX (2005), XLIX (2015) and LI (2017). Though they have only won five times, they have made it to the Super Bowl ten times, more than any other team.

Dallas Cowboys

Training at the AT&T stadium in Dallas, the Dallas Cowboys have won as many Super Bowls as the Patriots. They took the title at VI (1972), XII (1978), XXVII (1993), XXVIII (1994) and XXX (1996).

San Francisco 49ers

Like the Cowboys and the Patriots, the 49ers also have five Super Bowl victories to crow about. Based in Santa Clara, California, the 49ers were victorious at XVI (1982), XIX (1985), XXIII (1989), XXIV (1990) and XXIX (1995).
